Boy, Oh, Boy!

Last week I held a baby shower for my sweet friend Sarah.  Her and her husband are having their first baby boy this September!  The girls in the design department came to Meadow Boutique for the shower and it was perfect.  We played two games. One was cutting the blue ribbon the length you thought would fit perfectly around her baby belly, and the second was testing baby food.  Don't worry- it was just the fruit kind!

Have a look:

Delicious Cupcakes

Beautiful baby roses:

Adorable baby plates in the colors his nursery will be!

I got some cute balloons:

Since we were at Meadow, some of the girls tried clothes on and modeled for us (:

Sarah is having a baby boy and naming him Carter! Isn't she cute?!

Carter is one lucky little boy! Stay tuned to see Sarah's design concept for the nursery (:

My Life As of Today...

1. These cookie coated drum sticks are my life.

2. Strawberries are my favorite fruit. Lavender told me she wanted to be in the picture.

3. These colors make me happy.

4. Ikat is hands down my current pattern obsession.

5. I can't wait to sit by the pool!

6. I'm using lots of self control in order to not buy this chandelier from Meadow

7. Today I've started packing up all my stuff, taking everything off the walls, and you know what? It feels kind of weird.  Last summer I spent so many hours preparing for decorating this very apartment.  You all know how seriously excited I am about getting back home for summer, but there's just something strange about leaving a place you put your heart into.  This next week I'll be showing you some of my favorite elements to the apartment.

That's my sad face for having to take down the wall art.

8. Our countdown chalkboard keeps seeing lower number each day. LOVING it!

9. You know what that means? 11 days till I see this furry bundle of joy:

10. I'm so thankful for the life I have been given. For my family, my friends, my school, the experiences that have brought me to where I am today.  But mostly, I'm thankful for God's continued faithfulness in my life, and yours.

Happy weekend!  What are you up to?

Fashion Friday #35: Summer Color

Happy Happy Friday, lovely friends!
You know what today marks?? TWO weeks from today I'll be done with finals and moving back to California for the summer...hooray!
This week has been pretty gray, but luckily I snagged some pictures for today's post on the last sunny day.
Here's what I'm wearing this week:

Shoes: Steve Madden
Sunglasses: Anthropologie. On sale for $5! Shut up, I know.

I know what you're thinking: Michaela, are we seeing you in a dress twice in a row??
Why yes, yes you are! It's a miracle.

Okay, girls...it's time to dish on your favorite polish color for summer.  I love the hot pink I have on my toes now.  Here are some of my favorites:

These colors all remind me so much of Kate Spade; bright, bold and beautiful.  Loving the statement colors. I think I'm going to do an orange color this week (: What's your go-to summer color?

Have a beautiful weekend!

You Had Me At Hello

....along with everyone else! You know what I'm talking about: Anthropologie!  This past weekend when Alyssa and I went down town, I couldn't help but go in my favorite place ever.  Aside from trying on bridesmaid dresses for Alyssa's wedding next summer, we also took a look at their dishes that were on sale:

I may be back soon {and not exercise my self-control} to buy a few bowls like these.  Dontcha think pretty bowls and plates would be perfect to house my jewelry on my new dresser??

Such a cute monogrammed mug:

Another reason I love going in Anthro is because they have so many unique ideas for the home.  This is my new favorite idea for a kitchen:

Stenciling your favorite recipe on the wall!

Loving the chandeliers:

This gallery wall going up the winding staircase is a collection of architectural images:

I bet someone could DIY this same lampshade for way cheaper!

Always looking for cute letters:

Ahh, Anthro. You never fail us.

What have your favorite finds been lately? Anyone brave enough to stencil a recipe on their kitchen wall? I could see it as a backsplash or just a feature wall, too!
